Attractive, affordable housing has been one of the key elements in making Cranberry Township one of the region's fastest growing communities. The statistics tell the story: 59.5% growth rate over the past ten years; median household income of $44,588; and average age of 34.7. All of this within one of the region's most competitive tax municipalities.

Cranberry Township has experienced a significant growth trend since the early 1970s. Actual population figures have consistently outgrown projections. According to the 1990 census, Cranberry's population grew to 14,816 persons, up 34 percent from the 1980 census. The 2000 census identified a population in the township of 23,625, up almost 60% from 1990. And sure enough, Cranberry's growth continued during the first part of this decade, with population rising to 30,170 according to the 20014 census.
